Preparing your submission

Written texts

Written texts should be submitted as .doc or .docx and not .pdf. A line spacing of 1.5, standard borders of 2.5 cm on the sides, top and bottom, Times New Roman font, and 12 point font size should be used.

Images, tables, and graphs

Please insert images, tables, and charts directly into the text where they ideally should be placed; do not move them to the end of the text.

We require the images and figures to be in the best possible quality. High-resolution versions of the images and figures need to be submitted as separate files (TIFF or JPG for images, EPS for charts and line art). To mark the correct location in the main written text, compressed versions of the images and figures should also be integrated in this main file, preferably keeping the file size below 10 MB.

Language quality

The authors should ensure that submissions are carefully proofread before sending them to Mediální studia / Media Studies. Otherwise, the submission risks being turned down after the initial evaluation by the editor-in-chief. Please note that the journal is not responsible for the language editing of submissions.

Reference style

Submitted texts should comply with the APA (7th edition) referencing style. For more details, we recommend that authors consult the following website: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines.

A/V works

For the review of A/V essays, authors are responsible for uploading their audio/visual work on a platform of their choosing, making sure that the material is password-protected. They will need to include the URL of the uploaded audio/visual work, and the password, in the contextualizing statement.
